Family Vacation to Michigan

We had a great vacation the end of July to northern Michigan.  It was so beautiful and relaxing.  The trip included Ryan's parents and his brother's family from Illinois.  We all wanted to get together to do something special to celebrate Don's (Papa) 70th birthday.  This was the first time all of us vacationed together and it was a real treat watching the kids play together.  We took a few days trips.  One was to Mackinaw Island.  There are no cars on the island so you either walk or take a horse and carriage everywhere.  It was such a beautiful place!

Florida 2012

We went back to Florida this year in March. This was the first time on an airplane for Grant and his first time to Forida. Gavin enjoyed everything this year. It is so fun to see him get excited about things as he grows up.  One of the many places we went to was a visit to a dog training center that teaches dogs how to become guide dogs.  The boys loved getting to pet and play with the dogs.  Enjoy the pictures!

Grant's 1st haircut and birthday

Grant had a great time getting his first haircut. He loved every minute and especially enjoyed getting to ride and drive a car.

We had a small party for Grant's 1st Birthday. I think Hannah and Gavin loved the party more than Grant but he did enjoy getting to eat some cake. He made such a mess that we had him open his presents in his diaper before giving him a bath. I wanted to make a special cake for Grant so I choose to go with an Elmo theme. The cake turned out great!
